Arizona & New Mexico
Hello to all you Corvette enthusiasts,
I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Bob Kroener (pronounced 'Craner') and I will be the Captain of the
Arizona-New Mexico 2009 15th Anniversary of the National Corvette Museum (NCM) Caravan. The 15th Anniversary
festivities are scheduled to take place at the NCM 3-5 September 2009 in Bowling Green, KY.
Plans are for the Caravan to depart from Courtesy Chevrolet in Phoenix the morning of 31 Aug 09 (Mon.) with
scheduled overnight stops in Albuquerque, NM, Oklahoma City, OK, Jackson, TN and arrive in Bowling Green on 3
September 09 (Thurs.). Arrival time in Bowling Green is estimated to be between 9am and 10am. More details can
be found under the TRIP ITINERARY section.
Information on our Sponsors can be found under the SPONSORS section. With the help and support from the
Caravan's staff and our Sponsors, I can assure that everyone will have a memorable experience. Our sponsors are
really excited and committed.
I have formed a volunteer staff in both Arizona and New Mexico as plans have come together. You can find
their contact information under the SUPPORT STAFF section. Please feel free to contact us with your
questions.
Continue to monitor this site for follow on updates.
April 2009 Update from the National Corvette Museum eNews:
"We have had many inquiries about the registration process for the National Corvette Caravan
versus 15th Anniversary Celebration. These registrations are separate and you will need to register for
both parts if you plan to participate in both. The Caravan registration entitles you to the perks
associated with activities planned along your caravan's route, but does not cover you for activities at
the Museum."
"The 15th Anniversary event is a totally separate process and entitles you to be a part of the
activities planned upon your arrival as part of the caravan. If you have pre-registered for the Caravan,
you will want to return to our website and reserve your spot on the activities planned at the Museum. If
you are only participating in the 15th Anniversary festivities and are not planning to be a part of the
Caravan, register online for the event festivities. Registration for both the National Corvette Caravan
and 15th Anniversary Celebration is available via our
website."
January 2009 Update:
The National Chairperson, Kathie Lin Summers, has provided some information on the weekend events at the
NCM. This is all she has for now. More will follow. She writes, "Several of you have asked for specifics
on the activities that will take place at the NCM during the Labor Day event. As I've stated previously, it
will follow the same type format as previous Labor Day events. Thursday will feature road tours, Museum tours,
plant tours, shopping trips, and vendors. Somewhere along the line we'll have an official Re-Opening Ceremony.
Friday and Saturday will have more of the same as well as seminars, the Hall of Fame banquet, the celebrity car
show, drag racing and/or autocross and possibly live entertainment (no plant tours on Saturday). "Show
Your Colors Day" (Friday?) encourages participants to wear their club shirts. The registration for the
15th Anniversary will not be opened until the agenda and pricing are finalized and THAT cannot be done 'til the
price for the Hall of Fame banquet is confirmed (the vendor won't quote that price more than 6 months out).
Based on that formula, we can expect the Anniversary registration to open around the first of March."
Happy New Year!
Additionally, anyone in other states along our route, who after considering the various caravan routes and
timetables, is invited to join us. However, you MUST designate the AZ-NM Caravan when you register with the
NCM.
