The 2009 National Corvette Caravan's Captain for Southern California, Hib Halverson, announced today that Ron Cohen, of the Red Line Corvette Club, has been named to the SoCalCar Organizing Team. Initially, "Commander" Ron will assist Commander Tony Megowan in planning the SoCalCar's route to Bowling Green and assembling the "Route Book" which is each Caravaner's main reference document for the event.

Currently, the SoCalCar Team is composed of Capt. Hib Halverson and "Commanders" Sherry Maples, Tony Megowan and Ron Cohen. Two more appointments are expected soon to fill out the senior leadership of the SoCalCar.

Halverson also announced that Commander Ron's business, Gorilla Travel of Calabasas, will once again serve as the SoCalCar's recommended travel service for the event. Caravanners can depend on Gorilla Travel for trouble free booking of hotel/motel space along during the 4-5 days of the trip and the most reasonable prices possible.

Lastly, the SoCalCar Organizing Team is developing a survey which will be distributed to all on this mail list sometime, soon. It is likely this survey will require a visit to the National Caravan web site which is being developed at this time. We want to find out a few things about what you liked and disliked about the last Caravan and what you want (and might not want) for the next one. As soon as the survey is ready, we'll give you a web address to visit.

We're not to the point where we're ready to issue these Newsletters regularly, so the next time we have "news" of the Southern California Section of the National Corvette Caravan we'll send out an e-News.
