>>CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF CARAVANING, TRY A TOUR<<
Ok. Maybe just some keepsakes aren't enough for you? You had such a great time with the SoCal/SoNev
Section of the National Corvette Caravan that you wish there was a caravan-style event sooner than the
next National Caravan which might be in 2014? If that's the case, look into "Bloomington Gold
Tours".
You might remember on Caravan, when we arrived at Little America in Flagstaff, that the BGT folks
had an information booth set up and a couple of interesting Vettes, a '69 and a '66 on display.
Bloomington Gold Tours is run by Dwayne and Cindy Bublitz of Flagstaff. They started BGT in 2004 and,
in five years, the Bublitzs' Tours have become quite popular with Corvetters in the southwest although
they've drawn people from as far as New York, South Carolina and Florida.
Imagine these Tours as one of the Sections of last year's National Corvette Caravan, except they
happen 3-4 times a year are sometimes smaller groups and, in most cases, the Tours include meals and
hotel stays. The routes vary from a swing through the Rocky Mountains, a trip to three of the
southwest's National Parks to a "Route 66 Tour" on the longest continuous stretch100
milesof Historic 66. New in 2010 will be a "Vintage Tour" which requires a '73 or earlier
car and runs through all the scenic spots in Northern Arizona such as the Grand Canyon, Sedona and
Williams, the quaint town which was the last on Route 66 to be bypassed by Interstate 40. This tour
also meets car, meets Bloomington Gold's "Tour Certification" requirement. On the Vintage
Tour, Dwayne Bublitz plans to lead with his newly restored '57.
Now, the Fairest Sandra the Red and I have not, personally, been on a Bloomington Gold Tour but when
Dwayne Bublitz contacted us about setting up an information booth at our stop in Flagstaff, I checked
out his operation. I have several friends in our Section's home club, the PVCA, who have taken a
Bloomington Tour and, universally, the feedback was good. I've also talked to some other folks, outside
of California, who've done a BGT and they had a great time. So, Dwayne and Cindy's operation is
"Caravan Captain approved" as far as I'm concerned. The 2010 Tour schedule was released this
week and is avaiable, along with more information from Bloomington Gold Tours, 1001 N. Wakonda St.,
Flagstaff, AZ 86004. Tel: (928) 527-8388. Web: www.BloomingtonGoldTours.com Tell em "Captain
Hib" sent you.
Best regards,
The Southern California Caravan Orgnizing Team

Did you go on the Caravan? If you went braless, shame on you! 95% of new cars with less than 1,000
miles have paint blemishes from normal driving. Imagine what two years of street driving followed by a
cross-country trip will do to YOUR paint. The solution? A "Clear Bra". It functions like a
traditional auto bra but is far more durable. It will NOT scratch your Corvette's finish like most
"strap-on" auto bras. This 3M Paint and Headlight Protection lasts for the life of your
Vette.
