January 2009 Update:
As your Captain for Indiana and Western Ky, I wish you all a Happy New year and want to announce we have
been able to finally announce our details for the 09 Caravan. We apologize for the delays, but the Indianapolis
Motor Speedway just agreed to our request.
Our starting points for the Caravan are in two different locations. The first is at the Indianapolis Motor
Speedway, September 3, 2009. We will be taking our lap around the track, and then heading south to Bowling
Green. Our second starting point is in Louisville, Kentucky at the Hall of Fame Cafe, near the University of
Louisville, again on September 3, 2009. There will be further announcements as to the events planned at each
location, particularly at the Speedway. As in 2003 Caravan, we had a small charge to each car for the use of
the track, and we shall announce that a later time. We are trying to finalize the Kentucky events and will post
at a later time.
If you are planning to start from the Indianapolis location, you can contact me at
RPeel@indy.rr.com . If you plan to start from the Kentucky location,
contact my Asst Captain, Larry Martin at
Larry@martinflooring.net.
As with any large event, hotels have become a problem for some people. If you haven't booked your Bowling
Green reservations you need to get this done. You can contact the Bowling Green Area Convention and Visitors
Bureau for assitance. They can be reached at 1-800-326-7465, or visit their website at:
http://www.visitbgky.com/caravan/ for up to
date information on available hotels. If you are coming to Indianapolis with a large group of Caravaners and
need Hotel information, contact me for help.
Many of you have already registered and have been inquiring about ordering decals, flags, etc for the 09
Caravan. Within the next couple of weeks we will be sending out to you the costs and ordering information. We
are in the process of putting together a Blast email to all Indiana and Western Ky registrants to keep you
posted on a more timely basis. We'll start sending out information via this Blast as we get new information, or
simply to keep you aprised as the year goes on for the 09 Caravan. If you have specific questions, you can
still email me at RPeel@indy.rr.com.
If you have already registered for the 09 Caravan we thank you, and for those that haven't, please do so, as
this helps the State Captain and the National Chair in their organizing. Please keep in mind that once you have
registered for the 09 Carvan, the Labor Day events at the Museum are a separate registration, so please keep
watching the National website at
http://www.corvettemuseum.com and go to the 2009
National Corvette Caravan for further details about the Labor Day events.
Start counting the days to the 09 Caravan in Bowling Green, and with the tradition from the Speedway, I'm
practicing "Ladies and Gentlemen, Start Your Engines."
See you soon.

INDIANA CORVETTE ENTHUSIASTS;
If you haven't heard, there is another CARAVAN kicking its heels up with a destination of Bowling Green,
KY.
The 15th Anniversary of the National Corvette Museum is scheduled for September 3-5, 2009, and, what better
idea, than to have another National Caravan sweeping across the United States to celebrate this great event.
I've been designated as your Indiana Captain. I was the coordinator for the 2003 Caravan for
the event at the Indy 500 party prior to heading for Bowling Green. I hope many of you remember
the great time we had at the Brickyard (except for the weather). Over the next few weeks, I will
be formulating the Indiana portion of this event. There is a great deal of planning that goes
into this event that will require a number of volunteers for specific needs. Our first major
meeting is April 28th at the C5 Bash in Bowling Green for the Captains, and after this meeting I
hope to have a tentative agenda for Indiana.
If you have an interest in volunteering, I ask you to forward your name and contact information
to me at RPeel@indy.rr.com. You can continue in the
meantime to read about the CARAVAN at
http://www.corvettecaravan.com/ - this site is being
continually updated, so sign up for the eNews and continue to check back.
Indiana looks forward to another great CARAVAN and everyone's continued support of the National
Corvette Museum. Stay in touch and Save the Wave.
