Ohio & Eastern Kentucky

All Ohio Caravaners:

We are putting the finishing touches on the management side of the Ohio leg of the 2009 Caravan. It is certainly enjoyable to see such enthusiasm this early in the game!

We have selected the Ohio Corvette Club Alliance as the organization that will spearhead the Ohio activities. The Alliance is comprised of 10 Corvette club from around Ohio that support each other and have a great history of organization, management and follow through, as well as hosting the largest All Corvette Show in Ohio on the last Sunday of July in Lancaster, Ohio.

Darel Bono, from the Corvettes of Hamilton club, has agreed to serve as a Co-Captain as he did in 2003.

Other Ohio Corvette clubs involved at this early date include: Capital City, Chosen Few, Classic Glass, Corvettes of Lancaster, Cross Flags, Heart Of Ohio/NCRS, National Road, and the Southern Ohio Corvette clubs. The officers and members of all of the Alliance clubs will have a role in the 2009 Caravan.

The Alliance has clubs in all areas of Ohio that will be able to organize and lead the caravan into Columbus for the "Roundup" a day or so before the arrival date in Bowling Green.

If you are in Ohio and do not belong to an Alliance club, write me on the Caravan Chat list (sign up link below), or at OhioCaravan09@att.net and we can discuss what you and your club can do to make this Caravan the best ever.

The Central Ohio Corvette Owners Association will host an evening of fun in Columbus for this event. We have already made arrangements with Catering by Design and Sanese Services in Columbus to host and stage this terrific event. We are expecting 600 Corvettes, their owners and passengers into Columbus, so be ready for a great time.

We are planning activities that will make the event and the drive to Bowling Green a memorable and exciting one. We hope you will be a part of it.

Stay tuned,

Duff Parsons
Ohio Captain
