Greetings from Oklahoma! Let me take a moment to introduce myself and my wife… I am Ike Dodrill and my wife of 45 years is Hazel. We have one adult son.
We have been Lifetime NCM members for 20+ years. I retired from Intel Corp in 2001 and still do some IT Consulting. Hazel works part time at our Church as the Treasurer. We own two Corvettes… a 66 BB coupe undergoing a resto-mod restoration and a 99 triple black vert.
Looking forward to meeting all of you!
Save the Wave,
Ike & Hazel Dodrill

Route & End-of-Caravan Banquet
We will be taking basically the same route as we did in 2014. This time we will forgo some of I-44 between OKC and Tulsa for Old Route 66.
Monday August 26th – Amarillo TX to OKC, OK (NC&HM lunch)
(Pit Stop in Elk City for donuts and coffee)
OKC to Tulsa (Hard Rock Casino overnight)
Tuesday August 27th – Tulsa to Springfield MO (lunch@ Houlihan’s)
(Pit Stop at Welcome Center)
Springfield to Cape Girardeau MO (overnight)
(Pit Stop at West Plains)
Wed August 28th – Cape Girardeau to West Paducah, KY (YOYO lunch)
West Paducah to Bowling Green (NCM arrival TBD)
Notice we have picked lunch locations for OKC and Springfield. We will dine as a group at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum at a cost of $21 per person for the tour and lunch. Folks joining us there can eat/tour with the group or just depart with us. We expect to be there for about 2 hours.
Group End-of-Caravan Banquet – Wednesday Aug 28th , 6:00pm – Mariah’s
Since the Museum is not having an “arrival” drive thru we thought it would be good to have our own End-of-Caravan event. This is optional and the expected meal cost is $30/person. Gary Cockreil has agreed to be our Guest Speaker. Mariah’s can handle 20-250 in their banquet room. Stay tuned for more details.
Pre Run #1 – April 2018
We ran the proposed route to the 2018 Bash with the Dobbins. Decided Rt 66 from OKC to Tulsa would work. Found some great eating in Springfield but not sure they can handle a large group. That is still TBD. We met with several members from the Corvettes of SE Missouri club in Cape G. See picture below.
These guys are doing a GREAT job getting Cape Girardeau ready for another swarm of Corvettes. Based on what I am hearing we could have over 500 cars!
And of course while there we had to sample some of the local cuisine. This little downtown Ice Crème shop is adjacent to an antique store. Great food and tons of interesting knickknacks to be had. So you have been warned.
The Land Between the Lakes area is still as beautiful as ever. We will stop in Hopkinsville for a lunch break. Then on to Bowling Green.
Pre Run #2
Pre run #2 to the 2019 Bash was completed without issue. We, along with Captain Tony Megowan
(Southwest) and Captain Tommy Mallory (KS & MO), met with the Corvettes of SE Missouri Club folks to get updated on the Cape Girardeau plans. After joining with the additional Caravans we expect 550+ cars for the Wednesday leg from Cape Girardeau to Bowling Green.
– We met with the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tulsa this week. While our block of rooms has been released back to the Hotel (as I did not want to pay any cancellation fees) they are still honoring the block rate. They will continue to do this as long as rooms are available.
– We have special rates for 200+ rooms at 6 hotels in Cape Girardeau.
– Some hotels in Bowling Green have released rooms. As I am made aware of this I will send out notices to those on my mailing list.
I have created a document that details the above hotel information. I am sending this out to all that have provided me with their contact information.
Send me an email if you want a copy.
We need Local Leaders for the Texas Panhandle area, Tulsa, and Springfield MO. If you are willing to help please send me an email.
As always we can certainly use donations to help defray the costs.
As in the past the NCM is offering Reserved Parking adjacent to the museum for use during the 25th Anniversary Celebration. We will raffle one space off selling up to 100 tickets for $10 each. There are a limited number of these and to get one required a minimum $500 donation to the NCM so $10 might end up being a great investment. If we sell all 100 tickets the OK/TX Panhandle Caravan will make $500.
